River-side campsite in the Drôme: contemplation, canoeing, fishing
Enjoy the privileged setting of the Côté Vercors campsite, simply contemplate the beauty of the surroundings or treat yourself to a canoe trip or a spot of fishing.
Our campsite, located on the banks of the River Bourne, offers a delightful natural setting where you can enjoy a peaceful holiday. Live in the moment and recharge your batteries – camping in all its simplicity.
An exceptional natural setting
The Bourne River borders part of the campsite, creating a unique environment for our campers. A small gate leads to a grassy area that opens directly onto the water. From here, you can take a refreshing dip or set off on a canoeing adventure.
From this spot, you are close to nature and can easily observe the birds that are abundant in this area: kingfishers, goosanders, night herons, swans, mallards, etc. If you have binoculars, remember to bring them along!
In the background, the Vercors mountains rise majestically. The colours of the sky change depending on the weather and illuminate the mountains with magnificent hues: blue-grey, sky blue, pink, orange… the colour palette seems endless.
Canoeing and kayaking: an adventure on the water
The campsite also offers an ideal activity for those who want to discover the river in a different way: canoeing. We have two canoes available for hire, exclusively for campsite guests. This is a great opportunity to cruise the Bourne at your leisure, while enjoying the surrounding countryside.
You can paddle down the river to the Isère, discover pretty pebble beaches and stop for a refreshing swim, or simply admire the local flora and fauna along the way. The activity is open to all, but booking is required at the campsite reception. Paddles and life jackets are included in the rental price, and rates vary depending on the duration.
Fishing around the campsite
Fishing enthusiasts will also find something to their liking at the Côté Vercors campsite. The Bourne river, which borders the campsite, is classified as a first category river, making it an ideal place for fishing. You’ll mainly find trout, Arctic char and grayling, typical species of mountain rivers.
Let yourself be tempted by a spot of peaceful waterside fishing, and enjoy the peace and beauty of the natural environment. But of course, as with any fishing activity, there’s no guarantee of results…
