At Camping Côté Vercors, we have created two pitches specially designed for cats to allow their owners to go on vacation with them with complete peace of mind.
Since I was very young, I’ve had cats. They have always held an important place in my life: their presence reassures and soothes me.
When I was a child, one of my greatest pleasures was building little shelters for them in the garden. I put a lot of care into it… even though, very often, they ultimately preferred to sleep elsewhere!
These experiences left a mark on me and made me realize how difficult (but also how joyful) it can be to go on vacation with your cat.
Today, now that I run Camping Côté Vercors, I wanted to give other cat lovers the opportunity to go on vacation with their companion, with complete peace of mind.
Going camping with your cat

Two pitches specially designed for cats
The garden
This pitch is fully enclosed with fencing on all four sides to a height of 1.80 m, so that your cat cannot escape. A wide opening allows you to set up your caravan, tent, or motorhome. Once your installation is complete, the opening is closed for the entire duration of your stay. You then enter and exit through a gate.
Your car is parked on the pitch but outside the fenced area.
At the top of the fence, an anti-climb system made of three stretched ropes discourages the cat from climbing. The sky remains completely open; the area is not covered.
Inside the pitch you will find: a shelter for your cat so it can take cover in case of rain, a litter box shelter, and wood for scratching.
Thanks to this setup, your cat can move around freely on the pitch and stay close to you. You can leave the door or windows of your tent, caravan, or motorhome open: it can go in and out safely.
The pavilion (under construction)
The second 100 m² pitch includes a fenced enclosure measuring 3 × 2.50 m, fully enclosed, including the top.
This secure space is equipped with: an access gate, a shelter for the cat, a litter box shelter, and wood for scratching.
You set up your tent, caravan, or motorhome next to this enclosure. You can join your cat at any time by going through the gate.
In this setup, it is completely impossible for your cat to escape.
